Working with the University of Suffolk, on Saturday 24th March, we put on  an exhibition about the Basque Refugees in the Workhouse.

In 1938/39 nearly 100 children were evacuated from Spain to Wickham Market, where they stayed in the Workhouse, which is now Deben Court, and we heard about their experiences of living here.
